History of H&S Heat Treating

  • Began operations under present charter in 1969
  • Relocated main operation to Port Robinson, ON in 1974
  • Constructed additional facility in 1995, Barrie, ON

Nitrex Metal Technologies (NMT)

  • Commenced operations in 1990
  • Added two additional facilities by 1995
  • become the premiere provider of commercial nitriding and nitro-carburizing services offering up to 25 tons per day of production capacity in 8 batch furnaces
  • Continuous nitriding/nitro-carburizing furnace (7-10 ton capacity per day)
  • TS-16949:2002, ISO 9001:2000 and AS 9100 certified
  • Currently exceeds 50,000 sq. ft.

  • First in Canada to commercially operate Cast Link Belt furnaces
  • Establishment “in-house” heat treating alongside customers’ facility
  • Incorporation of CNC machining into a Heat Treating facility
  • 1st to publish and be recognized internationally with own heat treating specification (AMS 2759/10)
  • Use of Optical Spectrometer technology for carbon control
  • Innovative, results-driven furnace design (Rotary Furnace, Walking Beam Furnace, Continuous Nitriding Furnace*)
